Playing the part of a Christian is not going to get you far. You have to want Him and seek Him with your whole heart!
You have to dig down deep and give your all to Him and pursue Him even when you can't see a way. You can be fake with people but not with God.. He looks at the heart and from the heart the mouth speaks. So if you ever want to know where your heart truly is, check your words and ask yourself this.. Do my words glorify or tear down? Some days they may glorify and you may even be reading the Bible and praying but a true child of God continues to stay in the word and continues to not only praise Him and thank Him and seek Him out at every turn in life but also to do these things even when we have emotional breaks, are standing strong and things are going well and especially when we are going through dry places in life.
It's easy to seek God during times of trouble but how about those times when we seem to be happy with and around others? Do we seek Him during those times in our lives?
Consistence is key to any type of relationship whether it's a relationship with Jesus, parents, siblings, your spouse, friends or anyone else.
If we are not consistent then how will they truly be able to develop a relationship with us and us with them?
The Bible tells us that by our fruits they will know us. So we have to ask ourselves this question..
What fruits are we producing on a daily basis? Maybe our fruits look good on the outside but are dark on the inside? Maybe our daily fruits are good on the inside and outside? Only we and God can know our own hearts for sure. Bad fruit isn't going to produce good things. It will still grow for a while but eventually it's going to start rotting and fall off the vine. We have to remain connected to the vine in order to produce good and righteous fruits in our lives.
What kind of vine are you connected to?
Do you study the word of God daily?
Is there a song of praise on your lips when you wake up?
Do you give God the start, middle and ending of your day?
Do you praise Him daily for all He's done and is doing for you?
Do you recognize the blessings He's given you in and through other people that care enough to minister to you so that you can find what they have found?
What type of fruit are you really, deep down truly producing?
Does your fruit reflect a love for God and all that He is.. or does it reap some darkness from time to time?
If it reaps darkness from time to time, then we need to go to God in prayer and ask Him to pluck out the bad and replace it with all good and sweet fulfilling fruits that will be apparent to others when we are around them.
We should desire for others to see God in us consistently so that they too will want what we have already found.
If you're not producing consistent fruits consistently then you have hidden darkness in some areas of your life and unless you do something to change it, it will rot you to the core.
We need to go to God in prayer and ask Him to reveal it to us.
When we search for Him He will be found. He is speaking to you now. When we listen intently for that still small voice He will lead us.
It takes knowing Jesus and asking Him to help us learn to produce good fruits but we have to remain connected to the vine, which is Jesus in order for us to produce that good fruit on a daily basis.
